The adidas Mega X is here to bounce into your heart—and possibly your closet—like it’s 2003 all over again.
This futuristic runner blends Y2K aesthetics with adidas’ wildest sole tech yet: the Megaride unit. Originally cooked up for soccer, this springy system is now flexing in lifestyle footwear. The upper goes full throwback with grill-like Three Stripes, heavy-duty TPU, and enough mesh to cool a laptop.
If you’re thinking “wow, these look like spaceships for your feet,” you’re not wrong. With a translucent welt connecting the mesh upper to the spaceship-meets-sandwich sole, these are anything but low-key. The soft grey colorway—accented by hints of cream and gold—is part of a rare 1-of-60 sample drop. So if you want a pair, you’ll need some sneaker luck (and probably a connect).
Sadly, adidas hasn’t confirmed a release date. But if their trend of slow-drip launches continues, expect these to orbit shelves later this year—or next. Until then, we’ll just admire the Mega X’s otherworldly look and keep refreshing this page out of habit.
To wrap it up: the adidas Mega X delivers performance-meets-style with a bold Y2K look and legit tech underfoot. Whether you’re a sneaker nerd or just love bouncy shoes, keep your eyes peeled—this one’s going to make noise.
