In 2005, Marvel gave us the Fantastic Four movie starring some of our favorite actors! And well, knowing how sneakers and movies are always crossing paths, it made sense to commemorate that movie. That was how the Nike Fantastic Four pack came to life in 2006. And now, with The Fantastic Four: First Steps release around the corner, it feels fitting to pay tribute to all of it! Down Memory Lane We Go – The Nike Fantastic Four Pack!
So, the year is 2006, and Nike decided to pay tribute to what will become a cult classic through an iconic collection. And that’s how the Nike Fantastic Four pack came to life. Each of the team members got their own pair, in addition to the iconic Dr. Doom! The kicks were as follows:
- Mr. Fantastic: Air Max 90 Premium LE. It’s flexible, just like its namesake, with a futuristic style all over.
- Human Torch: Air Max 95. These babies are as fiery as their owner, with orange gradients to complete the design.
- The Thing: Dunk High Premium. Obviously, the rock-like textures are solid as heck with brown tones to complement the design.
- Invisible Woman: Air Force 1 Premium. The kicks feature clear panels and light blue accents inspired by her outfit.
- Bonus villain: Dr. Doom Foamposite Pro. I mean, a simple black and white design kinda drives the point across.
Important note: The Nike Fantastic Four pack wasn’t an official collaboration with Marvel. That’s why the kicks drew inspiration from the movie without a direct nod to it. The pack was also a limited run, making the kicks pretty cool collectibles!
Air Force 1 Invisible Woman 2.0 – Same Swag, 20 Years Apart!
Almost two decades after the original release of the Nike Fantastic Four pack, the Swoosh is back at it! However, it seems like we’re only getting a new rendition of the Invisible Woman Air Force 1. The 2025 release will feature a partly transparent upper on the mid panel and toebox. Meanwhile, the rest of the upper will simply come in white leather! Moreover, the translucent outsole adds to the “transparent” vibe the kicks are going for. So all in all, it’s a pretty cool tribute to Invisible Woman!
