It took three models, but Nike finally has a signature shoe that be-fits Ja Morant’s rambunctious energy. Officially revealed earlier this Summer, the newest Ja Morant shoes debuted an unconventional design that Nike hadn’t attempted on a signature shoe to date.
With Morant’s ties to Memphis in tow, Nike chose the grizzly bear “scratch” graphic as the centerpiece of this low-cut design. Claw marks shred through the upper, which features a textured overlay arranged by endless placements of Ja’s logo. This detail alone drew comparisons to the Kobe 6 Protro, the silhouette that debuted the patterned TPU.
Ja’s name is displayed in surreptitious ways; the askew placement of the Swoosh is placed accordingly at the mid-foot to spell out the star athlete’s name; you’ll notice the lateral Swoosh on the left and right shoes are not mirror images of one another. The medial side, however, contains a typical Swoosh placement.
This Soft Yellow/Purple Dynasty/Volt Tint colorway is dubbed the “Hustle & Flow”; this dichotomy is echoed by the mis-matched color-blocking.
The Nike Ja 3 is confirmed to launch this August in the “Max Volume” colorway, while this “Hustle & Flow” edition is confirmed for later Fall 2025.
