Throughout the New Balance 1000’s renewed stint on shelves, the Boston brand hasn’t been shy about experimenting with different materials. There’s no true “normal” for the retro stability runner, but a constantly rotating window of different leather, mesh, and suede types. In toying with the model once again, New Balance is now set to release a new style featuring some key paneling changes.
The New Balance 1000 traditionally features two key overlay sections; a lower portion consisting of the mudguard, toe cap, and heel, and a curved upper section that frames the tongue. Here, the upper panels are removed and replaced by TPU accents on a mesh base, maintaining the model’s same feng shui but in a more simplified manner. As for the colorway, eyes are first drawn to a shimmering “Arid Stone” leather mudguard. The base and midsole feature “Slate Grey,” while “Still Water” makes impactful cameos on the lining and heel.
These are expected to release soon for $150 in unisex sizes; see detailed images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page to browse more upcoming NBs.
