Things are getting spicy at the Purple Palace. The long-awaited Kevin Durant trade brought home two new teammates for Devin Booker in Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, and all signs are pointing towards a greatly different roster surrounding Book come October. Regardless of the outside noise, Devin Booker has remained steadfast in his goal to spend his entire career in Arizona. Given that, it’s only natural that he’s expressed countless odes to the area via his first signature shoe, again visited with the Nike Book 1 “Desert Camo.”
You’ll immediately note that this is rather obvious interpretation of the state’s infamous “dry heat.” Yet to his credit, the Michigan State product has been expansive in showcasing what AZ has to offer, chipping in this arid alteration rather deep into the shoe’s lifespan. To date, he’s recalled the state’s natural beauty with the “Sedona,” called to its temperate ponderosa forests with the “Flagstaff,” or more recently, oded to multi-color skies over the Sonoran Desert with the Book 1 “Iridescent.”
While first looks at this blotchy colorway sadly don’t come with official word on whether the same locale lights this shoe, it’s not hard to connect the literal grounds to its layout, pinning a swath of earthy shades on the upper while leaving the sole unit draped in pure white.
At the time of this writing, we’re expecting the Nike Book 1 “Desert Camo” to make landfall on July 11th, retailing for the usual $140 sticker price. Catch in-hand shots below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for direct pick-up links once touched down.
