Parisian accessories label côte&ciel has connected with American footwear brand Merrell to merge the two brands’ design languages in creating the Hut Moc 2.
Produced in collaboration with Merrell’s fashion-forward 1TRL division, its amorphous shape is informed by the clouds that surround Mt. Fuji. An emphasis is placed on stillness as opposed to speed, reflected in the campaign’s blend of architecture and nature. Its unique upper features two folded fabric panels that are twisted and spiral around the foot. Underneath, a neoprene sock hugs the wearer while the sole is both light and adaptable, ready to take on the many terrains of the great outdoors. The two colorway options start with a “Khaki” that sees its light brown cover the upper as black rounds out the look at the sole. Its “Black” counterpart is stripped of color, instead offering a monochromatic finish.
The côte&ciel x Merrell 1TRL Hut Moc 2 is set to release tomorrow, June 27, via côte&ciel in both its “Khaki” and “Black” colorways. From there, it will later launch via Merrell and Merrell 1TRL stockists on June 30.
