Devin Booker Nike Blazer Low Detroit Tigers

Devin Booker may be the future in Phoenix, but the Grand Rapids native never turns down a chance to produce a homage to home. Taking to Comerica Field to throw out the first pitch for Twins vs. Tigers, the Suns superstar trotted out an upcoming Nike Blazer collaboration with heavy ties to Michigan’s MLB franchise.

Serving as the centerpiece of a typically laidback ‘fit for the moment, the Devin Booker Blazer in question is a true ode to the Cats, sporting a true-to-life orange and black Tiger print throughout its upper while proudly emblazoning the team’s logo on the heel.  Though challenging to make out in these initial teaser shots, the welting is also a point of intrigue, in which a rich geometric pattern is etched into the rubber.

On top of previous work on the Blazer as part of his Chevy collaboration, this adds to a line of various Tiger and Detroit odes, including the Lions-centric “Detroit Stomper,” the Mizzou-leaning PE for the elder Booker, Melvin, and a furry, striped do-up that linked all the way back to Moss Point.

Rather than stopping as this personal preview and first pitch, Book went a step further as part of his trip back home, gifting cleated versions of his Book 1 “Chapter One” to ace pitcher Tarik Skubal and other Tigers players. We’re very confident in saying that these performance versions won’t hit public hands, but the Blazer featured here is a different question — though release information is unknown at the time of this writing, it remains a distinct possibility that this tiger-striped version could see a wide launch soon.  For now, check out the in-action imagery embedded throughout, including shots from the Skubal-Booker jersey swap below.
