We’re officially halfway through Jordan Brand’s milestone 40th anniversary year – how those wallets holding up? The last six months have been eventful to say the least, chock-full of hits like the “Black Metallic Reimagined” 5s, Nigel Sylvester 4s, and a future grail in the “Bred” Jordan 1 High ’85. Now it’s time for the latter half of the year to take shape, starting with a handful of notable releases in July.
We tend to focus on retros in these monthly previews, but the Air Jordan 40 deserves special attention. The latest model in Jordan Brand’s premier numbered line has been very well received by sneakerheads thus far, pulling in elements from some of Mike’s best signatures in luxurious fashion. ZoomX foam is paired with full-length Zoom cushioning for the first time ever in a Jordan model, providing top-tier responsiveness and explosive force.
As for the other July Jordan releases, the Air Jordan 3 “Pure Money” kicks off the month with its first ever return to shelves. The Jordan 8 “Aqua” is the clear headliner of the retro slate, returning for the first time since 2015, while the Jordan 4 “Rare Air” closes things out toward the tail-end.
New Jordan releases pop up all the time, so we suggest keeping our Jordan Release Dates 2025 page bookmarked so you can easily check in throughout the year. We’ve compiled every July release below for your convenience, including images, purchase links, pricing info, and brief snippets about each pair. Keep scrolling to dive in.
Nearly two decades later, the Air Jordan 3 “Pure Money” is back for its first ever retro release. These originally dropped in 2007 as a counterbalance to the “Black Cat” 3s, which debuted the same year and just retro’d in January 2025. Adult, GS, and TD sizes will be available on July 3rd through SNKRS and retailers. It appears Jordan Brand has produced a huge amount of these, so it’s looking like an easy cop if you’re interested.

40 years, 40 numbered signature models for the GOAT. The Air Jordan 40 is officially here, and it’s a beauty. It’s got ZoomX foam and a full-length Zoom strobel, a first for the Jumpman, and premium-on-premium materials to boot. To kick things off, Jordan Brand is dropping a clean-cut colorway dubbed “The Classic” on July 12th. Budget for a $200 MSRP if these are a must.

The lone women’s-exclusive Jordan release of the month is the Jordan 3 “Starfish” arriving July 18th. Premium canvas and suede replace leather/elephant print panels up top, while orange accents remember the moment MJ shattered the backboard in an exhibition game in Italy (wearing an orange uni).

Last seen in 2015, the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” is back on shelves once more on July 19th. Save for the Jordan 40, this is far and away the most notable Jordan release of the month. That aquatic blue and purple mix feels perfectly at on home on Mike’s eight signature, delivering 1990s nostalgia for days. Here’s hoping JB makes enough pairs for all of us (full family sizes are expected).

There hasn’t been much buzz around Jordan Brand’s “Rare Air” releases this year, but this Air Jordan 4 might prove to be more sought-after than preceding AJ3s and AJ1s. A quarter of all pairs come with gold (as opposed to silver) “Rare Air” text under the tongue patch, meaning some are actually more rare than others. Full family sizes release July 26th, priced at $215 for adults.
