Following an Air Max Plus Golf for the U.S. Open last month, Nike is continuing to move in lockstep with the sport’s calendar with a special Air Max 90 Golf commemorating Scotland’s premier tournament.
Per an internal Nike product description sourced by Elden Monitors, this “Scottish Open” style is inspired by King James II’s ban on golf in the 15th century. Rather mockingly, Nike opts for a regal assortment of ostrich leather, patterned silk fabric, and “Sail” leather featuring “Metallic Gold” flakes. As one last cherry on top, orange “Golf” text on the tongue/insoles is crossed out as per the king’s orders.
The Scottish Open runs from July 10th-13th this year, so we’re expecting a release to occur around then. We’ll update this article post from the @sneakernews X account as soon as pairs become available.
