New Balance 860v2 “Silver/Red” ML860GC2

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

It’s hard to believe, but we’re past half a decade with the New Balance 860v2, one of the harbingers of the tech runner movement we’re still living through. Lending its platform to two silhouettes that would equally dominate the space in the New Balance 1906R and New Balance 2002R, arguably its recent life cycle has been a split between the two. While most of its mainline pairs hover on a low-key level a la the latter, it’s liable to mint standout editions and select collaborations in the same way that the former continues to.

Perhaps for its resemblance to some of those aforementioned high-profile pairs, the New Balance 860v2 in silver/red at hand appears as one of the more instantly arresting we’ve seen from the model in recent months. Darkened off-white soles hit on the inescapable faux-aged trend, while a full dose of Y2K silver dominate the mesh and leather arrangement up top. Helping to break up that overwhelming atmosphere is the titular fire red, coating many of the branding notes, including a lined N logo at the quarter, as well as the ABZORB cushioning embedded in the heel.

This New Balance 860v2 has already begun appearing on global NB sites, with a stateside launch expected shortly. Be ready for the usual $150 price upon arrival.
