New Balance 1000 “Dirty” M1000G

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Just when we thought we were out of the “pre-distressed” weeds, an incredibly divisive movement championed by luxury footwear outfits like Golden Goose and Balenciaga, the Swoosh dipped their toe in with their viral sensation, the Nike Air Force 1 “Dirty Triple White.” Could we be on the brink of a real comeback for the subversive aesthetic? If you trust New Balance’s finger on the pulse, the answer is yes, as they’re trotting out a “Dirty” New Balance 1000 hitting overseas retailers very shortly.

Seemingly on top of a rather standard white, silver, and grey base, the New Balance 1000 is rather comprehensive in spreading out the distressed detailing, working subtle scuffs and stains onto the mesh and midsole, while brushed, almost rusted textures brandish the leather overlays up top. Though this silhouette in particular hasn’t taken on the challenge before, plenty of NB peers wore this sort of style during the “pre-distressed” heyday a few years back, ushering the throwback runner into a league alongside the New Balance 991, New Balance 550, and in many ways, the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack.”

Expect the New Balance 1000 “Dirty” to hit retailers and NB.com as a part of the Boston brand’s Fall 2025 offerings. A $150 retail price is expected.

Elsewhere in their ongoings, the KITH New Balance 204L looms as the buzzy low-pro model gains traction.
