PUMA LaFrance RNR “White” 312274-02

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Plenty of hooper have signature shoes; in fact, it’s arguably the most bountiful period to date for a pro to earn a dedicated silhouette. Despite that, far fewer can claim three distinct lines with their name, something that only the likes of Kyrie Irving and LeBron James can avow. As if his North Star status at PUMA needed any further cementing, LaMelo Ball and his sneaker enterprise will soon join that cadre, as the PUMA LaFrance RNR marches towards its debut with an all-white edition.

Said to take inspiration from “lifestyle running shoes” and “dystopian outdoor vibes,” the LaFrance RNR immediately registers as one of the most out-of-left-field designs in Ball’s ouevre, a bold claim given how his “Not From Here” moniker has continually informed expressive and wild designs. The trail bonafides are clearest seen on the midsole, carrying over the pocked hardware from the PUMA LaFrance into a far more rugged, hardened unit. The mesh foundation is likely where you can clock the influence of the runner space. Even if you can trace where select pieces come from in the wider landscape, it’s impossible not to clock this as a uniquely LaMelo shoe, as a molded LF logo on the tongue and synthetic lace-stay with LaFrance spell-out text proudly stamp.

The LaMelo Ball PUMA LaFrance RNR “White” releases on August 15th, clocking in at $120 in adult sizing and $100 for GS pairs. This latest chapter in LaMelo Ball shoes earnestly kicks off with the LaFrance RNR “Earth,” landing on August 1st.
