New Balance 2002R “Silver/Black” U2002RF

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Though classed with the New Balance 860v2 and New Balance 1906R due to the timing of its introduction and a shared sole unit across the three silhouettes, the New Balance 2002R is of a different school of thought than its two peers. While the former duo each stand as undeniable followers of tech runner style, the 2002R closer resembles the brand’s stable of “suede runners” that brand fanatics have championed for decades.

As the peak of that style recedes further into the rear view, the New Balance 2002R has settled into life as an everyday driver rather than a hyped proposition as it was in its collaborative prime. Nonetheless, there’s still opportunity for the right color-up to capture wide audiences. We’re best to not prognosticate, but the white/black and silver/black editions at hand is certainly set well up for that potential, saddling up to its techy counterparts with shining materials up top. A black contrast sole underfoot tie either pair together, a tried-and-true formula for the snowy pair and an approximation of its trendier peers with the chrome edition.

The New Balance 2002R in both these leather looks are expected to hit shelves in the coming weeks, clocking in at $155 a piece. If either pair has caught your attention, keep this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub within reach for direct pick-up links upon arrival.
