More than ever, it feels like the fashion-forward crowd informs what comes out of Beaverton, part of a wider trend in which traditional sport brands are embracing “worlds collide” sort of product. It may not cleanly fit the “sneaker loafer” bill that’s dominant throughout the industry, but the Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn is very much part of that pack, now hitting on a timeless refined look in black.
For those who haven’t come face-to-face with the model yet, the big changes are immediately apparent, sporting an ultra-exaggerated wedged platform. The uppers remain largely unchanged, however, here utilized to bring a formal air out of the design with raw leather edges peeking through the otherwise darkened layout. Gold hits reinforce that same energy with a slice on the toe cap and the Wings logo at the very rear.
