With two decades under its belt, the Doernbecher Freestyle program in partnership with Nike has generated over $40 million in funding towards the children’s hospital. Since 2004, Nike has partnered its designers with select child patients of OHSU to create inspiring footwear designs that include everything from favorite foods to superheroes.
The Doernbecher footwear collection tends to be a mix of the latest running shoe designs, popular lifestyle icons news and old, and an Air Jordan Retro shoe. The Air Jordans tend to draw the most interest from sneakerheads; Sneaker News can confirm that the Air Jordan 17 will be part of the twenty-first collection.
Sneaker News can also confirm that the upcoming Doernbecher Freestyle 21 collection will include the Air Force 1 ’07, Air Max DN8, Air Max Plus, V2K Run, and Vomero Plus.
The Doernbecher Freestyle 2026 Collection is scheduled to be officially unveiled on October 17th, 2025 at the Portland Art Museum, with a retail release is expected for Spring 2026. First looks, release details, design inspirations, and the patient designers will be revealed in the coming weeks.
