It’s been all eyes on the Air Max 95 this year, but while not necessarily trending, the Air Max 90 remains a permanent fixture on store shelves. For Fall 2025, Nike is ditching the model’s “normal” with a fresh style featuring a croc skin mudguard.
Whether it’s actually catching on is up for debate, but croc skin leather has been on the rise in the sneaker world in recent months. This Air Max 90 is just one of several croc skin sneakers we’ve written about in August alone, joined by Dunks, Air Force 1s, Vans, and even a new take on the controversial New Balance 1906 loafer.
Official images reveal black croc skin leather on the mudguard, matched my more black hits on the eyestays, heel, midsole wedge, and outsole. The toe box and collar are cut from tumbled white leather, while the quarter appears in “Fossil.” A slightly darker “Desert Khaki” shade is applied to the Swoosh, while “Sail” rounds out the palette on the insoles, tongue, and upgraded leather tongue tag.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Croc Skin” doesn’t have a concrete release date, but we’ll post from the @sneakernews X account once pairs become available. For now, enjoy official images below.
