The Jordan Trunner O/S era is about to begin, and all the pieces have been laid out perfectly for this retro runner (or retro “Trunner”) to stamp its place in sneaker culture. If you caught our massive preview earlier this week, you might’ve seen this “Purple Smoke” colorway, a never before seen pair that hits several harmonious notes in lifestyle footwear.
With footwear trend firmly shifting away from the 1980s-era leather basketball shoe into the 1990s era of suede/mesh based runners, Jordan Brand is trying its hand on the movement by ushering in the principles of the Jordan Trunner, a category devised in the early 2000s as an all-purpose athletic shoe for running, training, and everything else in-between.
Unlike the existing Trunner silhouettes that hit the market, the Trunner O/S turns back the clock with the aesthetic, calling on a classic runner looks via a molded midsole, suede/mesh upper, and roped laces. Keeping to the Trunner legacy is the mid-foot cuff, a consistent detail of nearly all the models of the Trunner family.
Jordan Brand confirms with Sneaker News that a release is expected beginning October 2025 for $115; these are dropping exclusively at NBHD accounts globally. More details on the Trunner O/S to come on our Jordan Release Dates page.
