The Hibbett x adidas Superstar “State Fair” is a limited-edition sneaker that doubles as a home state pride sticker. 1,320 pairs have been produced, which allows sneakerheads a chance to double down on their DFW love.
Design features include embossed blue uppers with a blue quilted pattern; a Texas state outline across the outsole; Dubrae reminiscent of a belt buckle with corndog and ferris wheel graphics on the inside of the tongues (right and left respectively); and blue detailing on the laces and tongue tabs. You’ll recognize these touches instantly upon purchase.
There’s more to the sneaker release than the drop itself as Hibbett is holding a celebration event at Robert B. Cullum Blvd. in Dallas on September 20th from 2-8 PM to introduce the new Superstar. Guests will enjoy the event including cowboy hat giveaways; live music performances; build your own bolo ties; bull rides on Superstars; hoop setup; and state fair snacks. It’s a meet-up to rival your annual corner store planning.
Additional quotes from the brands themselves prove the concept of the release is as much about storytelling as it is about fashion. “This capsule collection is more than a reissue,” said Tamara Griffin, global marketing Adidas. “It’s an authentic Dallas story.” Drake Carroll of Hibbett agreed: “We are proud to work with adidas on this project as a great combination of style and hometown flair.” VP, apparel & accessories at Hibbett Sports Sarah Sharp-Wangaard sealed the deal, equating Superstar legacy with state fair tradition.
