Zion Williamson was easily the biggest story of the New Orleans Pelicans’ media day the other week — and for all the right reasons. The Pelicans’ star forward appears to have completely transformed his appearance, showing off a more athletic, slim physique akin to his build during his college days at Duke. In connecting Zion’s new look to his signature shoe line, the Jordan Zion 4 is set to release in a lively purple and orange colorway dubbed “Rare Form” in October.
Zion Williamson’s signature Jordan line has largely been overshadowed by those of Jayson Tatum and Luka Dončić, but the Zion 4 is widely regarded as his best sneaker to date (or at least a major improvement over the Zion 3). A full-length Air Zoom unit and drop-in Cushlon 3.0 midsole deliver a responsive, supportive ride, suitable for both drive-heavy guards and big men alike.
This “Rare Form” edition features a mostly purple upper composed of leather and synthetics, complemented by a light green tint on the Air Zoom units and orange hits on the interior lining. A semi-translucent icy blue outsole reveals an abstract purple and green pattern beneath, while Zion’s signature logo makes its usual appearances on the tongue, heel, and rear portion of the tread — all in orange.
The Jordan Zion 4 “Rare Form” releases October 7th for $145 via nike.com and select retailers. See official images below if you’re considering testing out a pair for yourself.
