In one of the more unexpected collaborations we’ve seen, The Grateful Dead and the Oregon Ducks have come together for a three-way project on the Nike Air Max 90.
Unveiled here by Bodega, the sneaker features a colorful tie-dye mudguard and Swoosh reminiscent of the Grateful Dead SB Dunks from 2020. In our eyes, the highlight is the hangtag, which swaps The Grateful Dead’s iconic hand-holding bears for ducks — a clever nod to Oregon. The mudguard window, tongue, and outsole further align with the university through alternating light green and yellow hits, while white mesh and suede with rainbow contrast stitching rounds out the rest of the design.
These are two names we’ve seen collaborate with Nike on their own before — but together? That’s pretty intriguing to say the least. As for why this exists, The Grateful Dead has performed at the University of Oregon several times throughout its storied history, which likely inspired the tie-up.
The Grateful Dead x Oregon Ducks x Nike Air Max 90 is available now via Bodega for $140 HERE. A larger release is expected to occur sometime during the Holiday 2025 shopping season.
