TOGA ASICS GEL-Cumulus 16 Release Date

When it rains, it pours. The ink barely dried on our most recent coverage of ASICS’ GEL-Cumulus 16 and its collaborative streak before a fresh one hit the newswire.

Going off a strict timeline, the TOGA x ASICS GEL-Cumulus 16 actually predates the aforementioned Finesse link-up, as does its US release date, now solidified after the high-fashion label hosted its own launch earlier in September. Presented as a new silhouette — the ASICS GEL-Cumulus 16 TG — this collaboration features a mash-up between the runner’s base composition and the maximalist, theatrical aesthetic the imprint has fostered since its inception, which is on full display. A dual-lacing system consisting of hiking-like speed laces and chunkier overlaces is the most evident aspect. Floral charms pace the eyestays, and the leather overlays shift into jagged edges, a genuine remodeling from the runner-approved simplicity ASICS has brought back to the fore.

Along similar lines, the model now bears an extended TPU heel clip, its origins solidified with co-branding details just above at the collar. Amid those hardware changes, we of course can’t sleep on the color options featured here. The pairs make up this capsule: an earthy orange/brown/blue, a steely grey/navy, and a silver/red pair that wears its Y2K inspirations front and center.

As mentioned above, the TOGA x ASICS GEL-Cumulus 16 will be distributed via a global launch on October 17th, dropping via ASICS.com and partnering retailers like Extra Butter. Retail is set at$270 across each channel and for all three colorways.
