In the early days of Zion Williamson’s tenure as a Jordan Brand athlete, the New Orleans Pelicans standout leaned on local culture for a big reveal. During the early rollout of the Jordan Zion 2, Williamson gave the world a first look at 2022’s Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo,” an earthy overhaul of Mike’s first signature bearing exposed stitching, hemp materials, and a host of eerie touches like skull logos and inverted Swoosh emblems. In the years since, that shoe has become a genuine hit in the Retro catalog, comfortably commanding double its retail price on the secondary market.
Just a year later, an alternate version of the shoe was shared by former PE designer Kelsey Amy, the creative typically tasked with crafting one-off versions for athletes themselves. Despite those initial indications of this pair being exclusive to Williamson, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo Alternate” is almost upon us, holding onto that same special edition build while swapping to a chilly variant palette.
