A few minutes later he doubled back in the comments, and at that point the community knew this wasn’t just noise.
The Foamposite Max has always carried a specific energy. It dropped in 1998 and ended up connected to Tim Duncan during a stretch when he quietly dominated the league. The shoe’s build was wild for that era—dense, molded Foamposite up top, a full-length Air Max unit underneath, and Zoom cushioning layered in. It looked like a sneaker built for collisions, not highlight reels. That’s part of its charm. Fans still call it the “tank” of the Foamposite line, and honestly, they’re not wrong.
