It’s low-key unfathomable to think that many of today’s younger sneaker collectors have never experienced an in-person midnight release. A long history of chaotic FCFS drops, combined with apps like Nike SNKRS and the rise of in-store pickup as a result, has essentially made lining up for hot Jordan releases a thing of the past. It’s a sad but understandable shift that has all but eliminated a once-beloved part of the culture.
If you long for those days, we have some good news. The “Gamma” 11s, this year’s marquee Holiday Jordan 11, can be copped in person at three midnight Foot Locker drops across the U.S. this Friday night.
Foot Locker locations in New York, Chicago, and Downey, CA will all release the shoes first come, first served, complete with immersive experiences, music, food and drink, and maybe even a few surprises. Note that attendees must be 18 or older.
