For as proud as Nike is of the Swoosh, the brand isn’t afraid to do away with it completely. That’s been the case on a number of modern runners in recent months, and it applies once again to this old runner turned lifestyle sensation in the Vomero 5.
Official images show an all-leather Russet brown upper featuring a fully enclosed base and quarter cage, a far cry from the 2011-born silo’s usual mesh-heavy construction. The Swoosh logos are removed from the quarter panels on both sides, shifting focus to the model’s updated hardware and pushing the look in a more dressed-up direction. The tongue and sockliner arrive in black, while the Cushlon-molded midsole balances black, Sail, and Russet. We’re picking up some Nike Air Safari vibes, albeit these of course don’t feature ostrich print.
The Nike Vomero 5 “Russet” is available now in Asia, but no stateside release date has been announced as of this writing. See official images below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page bookmarked for updates.
