The two aren’t necessarily synonymous, but as New Balance’s fashion-forward arm has grown, oftentimes the silhouettes most tailored to fit that bill are women-led or women-focused. If the first release of the silhouette via KITH Women didn’t stamp that, the initial marketing push for the New Balance 204L‘s first general release colorways should have, fronted by cross-category star and certified dresser Rosalia.
All of that makes the New Balance 204L a perfect candidate for some “Valentine’s Day” energy, now capitalized on with the rosy edition pictured here. Soft pink monopolizes the top notes of this shoe, while additional holiday-ready pops sneak on via the red branding in the upper and insoles, as well as the stripes of fiery tonality running through the outsole. It’s another moment where the silhouette leans on the suede and mesh build that’s taken up most of its colorway so far, contrasted by its more traditionally “techy” leather counterpart.
The New Balance 204L “Valentine’s Day” is due out on January 30th, retailing for $120. Catch official images below.
