Before becoming the Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer, before the Olympic Golds, before the All-Star selections, and before the signature shoe line, Devin Booker was running up the score for the Kentucky Wildcats. A one-and-done standout, Booker didn’t even get to show off his full skillset until he reached the NBA, quickly becoming one of the deadliest bucket-getters in the game.
Despite his short-lived stint at the Rupp Arena, Booker’s connection with Kentucky has always remained strong. With the Book 1, he released a “Wildcats” colorway that feature a faded denim upper and a custom logo on the tongue label. The design concept has circled back to the Book 2, arriving first as a Player Exclusive for the current athletes on the roster. It’s got a bit more of a classic denim blue upper canvas, while the standard royal blue floods the interior and the laces to create that strong contrast. White-tinted midsoles, which also feature a blue insert at the heel, complete this simplistic PE.
It seems likely that Nike would release a Book 2 “Wilcats” somewhere down the line, but for now, you’ll have to admire from afar because these are made only for the Wildcats.
