With a tip of the hat to Willy Chavarria, adidas has done a fine job reintroducing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature sneaker to the masses, checking off collaborations, special editions, and a plethora of clean high and low-top GRs over the past year or so.
This latest Jabbar Lo comes with a bit of a twist, opting for a rubber halfshell over the toe as opposed to suede. This is something we’ve seen pretty regularly on Willy Chavarria’s collaborations, originating of course from a version of the adidas Superstar. Premium black leather pairs with white hits on the stripes and backtab here, the latter saddled with a gold Trefoil logo. The rest of the toe box, meanwhile, is made from suede.
