The line between technical runner and conceptual object still defines Kiko Kostadinov’s work with ASICS. Consequently, that tension surfaces again on the ASICS US7-S Gel-Kinetic Fluent, which arrives as a tightly edited three-shoe pack rather than a mass rollout. Moreover, the release feels deliberate instead of decorative.
Each consists of an all-over graphic built around a repeating circle graphic running from toe to heel. At the same time, the silhouette’s signature mesh base remains visible beneath to retain breathability as well as brand identity. Thin strips of crisscrossed panels are layered overtop of that base, building texture without compressing the upper.
However, the three makeups carry different moods. The black pair leans monochrome and precise, while the brown version feels earthy and technical. Likewise, the green colorway lands with sharper, sportier contrast.
Of course, the sculpted Gel-Kinetic midsole remains at the center of the look. But the heavier employment of graphics across the entirety of the upper suggests storytelling will slowly become print-led with time. It feels like refinement instead of reinvention.
