Following multiple projects with Reebok, LA-based artist Victor Solomon is convening with Nike for his biggest sneaker project yet for NBA All-Star Weekend. The man responsible for redesigning the NBA’s trophies is set to drop a limited three-style collection with the Swoosh at Shoe Palace, including a Foamposite One, Air Max 90, and the Air Force 1 we have before us here.
Each pair in the “Trophies” collection honors a different area of LA, with the Foamposite One representing the beach, the Air Max 90 repping the Diamond District, and the Air Force 1 Low honoring Sunset Strip. Made with premium materials, Solomon’s Air Force 1 stands out with gold Swooshes and gold chains for laces, finished with basketball-shaped stoppers at the ends (not real gold, of course). The toe box, tongue, and quarter feature intricate lace patterns, while the rest of the upper favors tumbled leather. Special Victor Solomon branding appears at the heel, while the insoles show coordinates over a map of Los Angeles. Importantly, the sneaker is limited to just 1,000 units.
The Victor Solomon x Nike Air Force 1 “Sunset Strip” ($250) will be available via Shoe Palace Melrose (7725 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles) at 10:00 AM on February 14th. It’s possible another All-Star Weekend release is occurring, although nothing additional has been announced as of this writing. Do note that the Victor Solomon Foamposite One and Air Max 90 are both dropping a day earlier.
