After weeks and weeks of build-up, we’re finally able to let the gigantic slate of All-Star Weekend releases wash over us. Arguably none have become as coveted as Nike’s “Warning Label” collection, a family-wide celebration of all their current premier models, bringing together all signed signature athletes along with the Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro, GT Cut 4, and GT Future.
As they loudly announced by overhauling SoFi stadium with his visage, the late Kobe Bryant will be the most prominent figure in this weekend’s festivities. Yet don’t count out the King, only having to jaunt a few miles southwest for the All-Star slate. The Nike LeBron 23 “Warning Label” minted for the occasion has been one of the more mysterious of the set, not revealed via official Nike imagery and only hinted at with stylized shots.
Sneaker News now brings you a look at what The Kid From Akron might wear for the Sunday showcase, bucking its own “default” stylings by joining the crown chassis and the earnest upper comprehensively in gilded croc-like materiality (many previous colorways separated those sections with differing compositions). Changing view angles allows the metallic finish to really stand out, exploded into a kaleidoscopic iridescent under the right light. Finally, the pronounced lace charms that arrive with each “Warning Label” colorway results in the King’s lion motif sitting on the midline.
Like any of the “Warning Label” pairs that’ve come out of Nike Basketball this month, the LeBron 23 will be exclusive to Foot Locker’s in-person LA activation. Reportedly, each style is limited to just under 1,000 pairs each. If you somehow find yourself lucky, be ready for a $260 retail price.
