Worn by Michael Jordan en route to winning his first NBA Championship, the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” is considered one of the greatest Jordans ever. The story behind the “Salesman” dates back to 1999, just ahead of the model’s first retro run, when an unreleased “Reverse Infrared” sample appeared in salesman catalogs. It’s a long-held piece of Air Jordan lore now poised to be celebrated on the biggest stage the sneaker world has to offer, right on time for the model’s 35th anniversary.

As discussed many times in the lead-up to this release, the “Salesman” aka “Reverse Infrared” distinguishes itself with flipped color blocking on the midsole and red (as opposed to black) Nike Air branding at the heel. We should note that the official red color is actually “Light Crimson,” which is slightly different from the better-known “Infrared” shade.

Jordan Brand doesn’t disclose production numbers, but the fact that most retailers are holding standard FCFS drops suggests stock may be high. Pre-release aftermarket sales sitting only slightly above MSRP also point in that direction.
