Neutral and tonal overhauls have been the name of the game as New Balance x WTAPS has hit the newswire in recent times, but the partners may be looking down a new chapter with their latest.
Indeed, if you just caught initial shots of the WTAPS x New Balance Made in USA 1300, we couldn’t have faulted you for mistaking it for a CDG production instead, wrapped comprehensively in black leather save for a tuxedo collar at the heel. What’s less of surprise is the embrace of the enhanced Made in USA materiality, visible in campaign shots via the plush textures of the uppers and aligning with MiU work dalliances the two brands previous to this chapter; the 990v6 the most obvious connection.
The WTAPS x New Balance Made in USA 1300 releases on February 20th via WTAPS, New Balance, and retail partners. Don’t expect these to come cheap, however; a $290 / ¥48,400 sticker price is confirmed.
