At its core, the New Balance 1890 blends elements from past performance runners to create a modern, sport-driven design. The upper pulls from the classic 890, while the sole unit borrows from the original 2002, giving the shoe a layered, hybrid look. This mix results in a cross-training aesthetic that feels both familiar and updated, especially with ABZORB cushioning playing a central role underfoot.
A newly surfaced yellow and black colorway highlights that direction. Bright suede and synthetic overlays bring energy to the upper, while black tones ground the design across the base.
