Though we’re not trying to put down another model in lifting another, it’s admirable that the New Balance 2000 has risen to its status as one of NB’s buzziest silhouettes without much outside help. Save for Amine’s “performative” colorways and Joe Freshgoods’ Paris-exclusive, it’s been on the back of splashy tech and strong general release colorways that the ABZORB powered shoe has become one to watch.
As the New Balance 2000 enters year #2, we’ve seen the sport-forward colorways begin to gain calmer siblings, something tapped into with the New Balance 2000 “Grey Matter.” Though light blue ABZORB pods underfoot and slight metallic swatches recall the shining introductory looks that Boston creatives brought to market, the shoe is truly dominated by earthy tans, offering a more reserved take on the trainer.
An official date for the New Balance 2000 “Grey Matter” hasn’t surfaced just yet, but you can comfortably expect these to drop as the Spring/Summer slate continues on. The usual $170 retail price is likely.
