Given the unfortunately steady drumbeat of negative news surrounding brick-and-mortar sneaker stores, it’s worth celebrating what James Whitner has been able to accomplish, uniting nearly a dozen storefronts under their stewardship across the A Ma Maniere, Social Status, APB, and the most recent addition, Jaide, imprints.
The AMM name is no doubt the most recognizable for the sneaker public, and just when fans thought they knew what to expect from the brand’s collab efforts, A Ma Maniere pulled a real sucker punch, bringing their patented low contrast touch to the V2K Run. As fate would have it, it appears the Whitaker Group at large may be in focus, as an APB V2K run has now hit the newswire. The top notes of the design here shift more towards those established by mainline colorways, namely via an off-white sole unit and silver overlays. However, the same high contrast hallmarks delivered on AMM’s counterpart are still felt here; primary notes of red and blue dot around the upper, while a Neapolitan-like pink and brown handle the Swoosh branding on either side.
