The Levi’s Air Jordan 3 in its black and navy colorways release on February 21st via SNKRS, Levi’s, and select retailers. Either pair commands a $210 retail price. This, the widest release to date, follows California-exclusive drops for the “Ocean Fog” pair and an expected global launch of the cream “Year of the Horse” pair. Maybe the San Franciscan company isn’t cited in the same conversations as the Travis Scott and Hiroshi Fujiwara, but Levi’s is arguably just as important to the history of Brand Jordan. Indeed, since earnestly beginning the concept of a publicly released Jumpman collaboration, Levi’s hasn’t been shy about the quantity when they’ve linked up with Nike, Inc. No doubt their work on the Air Jordan 4 stands as the most essential, a three-way effort across black, white, and blue, but Beaverton and the brand reunited have continued to bear prolific fruit: three Air Max 95s, two Air Force 3s alongside Nigo, and of course, the four Air Jordan 3s we’re currently awash with.

In the Spike Lee-assisted rollout for this capsule, getting a handle on exactly how many colorways were coming to market was an outstanding question. With many of the releases, raffles, and drops in the rearview, here’s the rundown: the “Year of the Horse” Tan is exclusive to global markets, the “Ocean Fog” was only obtainable on the West Coast, and the black and the navy featured here are the “wide releases.” Either one sticks to relatively digestible scripts; dark wash uppers comprehensively coat the iconic model in denim, including takeovers of the usual elephant print patches. For the darker counterpart, this presents with Cement-style color blocking. Of course, Levi’s makes their presence unmissable with their legendary red tag for some co-branding appeal.
