Jordan Brand keeps pushing deeper into skate with a more grounded approach this time around. Instead of chasing bold color, the focus shifts to feel, wear, and long-term use. That direction shows up clearly on the Jordan Session SE “Sashiko”, which leans on texture and durability to carry the design.
Grey suede takes over the toe and side panels, right where grip tape hits the most. It’s a practical choice that also keeps the look clean and easy to wear. The rest of the upper brings in a denim-blue fabric across the toe box, tongue, and heel. There’s a tight weave to it, with small white flecks that give it some life. A red Jumpman on the vamp adds just enough contrast without pulling too much attention.
The details do more than just decorate. Sashiko-style stitching runs along the tongue and hits the lateral heel, giving those areas extra strength. Up front, elephant print overlays stack over the toe, adding another layer where it matters most. Down below, a grey and cream midsole sits on top of a blue outsole that keeps everything tied together.
This pair feels more focused on how it holds up over time rather than quick impact. That shift says a lot about where Jordan’s skate line is heading.
