This was always supposed to be a “reset year” for the Indiana Pacers, on the way as soon as superstar Tyrese Haliburton’s Achilles injury was confirmed as such. The potential for 2025’s finalists to reload with top-of-the-draft talent is still alive and well, and the timing might be just right. The team overall has become embroiled in the middle of a leaguewide tanking controversy, yet even as further penalties for the practice are weighed, save for making Herb Simon’s pockets a bit lighter, the ‘Cers might just escape with a foundational player and no major consequences.

On the footwear end, the real bitter pill has been that Haliburton hasn’t been able to lace up the PUMA Hali 1 as it’s come to shelves, obviously a formative moment in his tenure as a PUMA athlete. Nonetheless, the Big Cat has continued to push out strong colorway in his absence; perhaps the yellow-heavy pair featured here could be in the works as he makes his return in 26-27. The gold tones in heavy supply here obviously are a match for Indiana’s unis, while the green trim aligns with the eccentric language and compositions of head designer Salehe Bembury.

The PUMA Hali 1 “Citrus” hasn’t seen a concrete release date attached just yet, but is likely due out as we shift from the Spring shopping season to Summer. Be ready for the silo’s usual $130 sticker price once released.
