New Balance continues that momentum with the 2000 “Electric Indigo,” leaning hard into the aesthetic of layering and high contrast. The design feels performance-inspired, but built for daily life.
Soft, breathable taro mesh makes up the foundational upper. Curved synthetic overlays in darker indigo and black move across the shoe with a fluid motion, adding structure without breaking the flow. The midfoot “N” logo blends into that framework, while matching indigo laces and minimal “2000” tongue branding keep the palette consistent.
The base unit is where most of the playfulness happens, featuring performance-driven cushioning. A full-length string of segmented ABZORB pods cover the midsole with the pods colored black and clear indigo, creating the layered effect. A molded midfoot shank features bold splashes of purple, contrasting the subtlety of the rest of the shoe. Pattern is continued on the outsole with its segmented design.
