Edison Chen Dips The CLOT adidas Superstar In “Coffee”

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Edison Chen, CLOT, and adidas simply don’t know where the brakes are. What was a coup of a brand switch at the time of its announcement has become one of the most prolific partnerships in all of sneakerdom in the time since, offering the Hong Kong multi-hyphenate every opportunity to twist and reimagine the Three Stripes’ most weighty silhouettes.

Through both lifestyle and formalwear versions, the adidas Superstar has been the most frequent attendee over that span, additionally tacking on link-ups with Bape to its tasseled, jagged-sole composition. With its priciest edition just coming off the board in a pony hair version, the more attainable streetwear build comes back into view with retailer shots of a “Coffee/Orange” colorway. Barring the color switch on the Three Stripes and a split midsole unit, most of what fans have seen in the past remains on this edition: serrated edges, that aforementioned tasseled lace, and pocked detailing throughout the shoe for that trademark East-meets-West Chen flavor.
