Onitsuka Tiger is pushing its classic design language into new territory for Fall 2026. The brand has officially reworked its iconic Mexico 66 into a bold, fashion-forward silhouette, introducing a kitten heel version that blends sneaker heritage with runway styling.
At first glance, the idea of a sneaker heel might feel unexpected. However, the shift reflects the growing popularity of slim, low-profile models like the Mexico 66, which has become a staple in modern street style. Similar to the rise of other sleek silhouettes, the shoe has built a strong following—especially among women—thanks to its minimal shape and versatile appeal. That momentum makes this evolution feel more intentional than experimental.
The redesigned model keeps key elements of the original intact while elevating its overall look. A pointed toe replaces the traditional rounded front, while a leather footbed and a wrap-around strap add a refined, fashion-focused touch. Despite the changes, the signature side stripes remain, preserving the DNA that made the Mexico 66 recognizable in the first place.
Several colorways were previewed during the Fall 2026 runway presentation, including the familiar black and yellow combination along with red, white, and blue variations. The show itself leaned heavily into bold styling, also featuring standout pieces like snakeskin-inspired high-top boots.
The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Kitten Heel is expected to release during the Fall 2026 season, likely arriving between July and September.
