Although Climacool has been a buzzy term for the Three Stripes for some time due to their 3D printed slip-on, the earnest history of that title stretches far further. In digging up the chunky archival design, the Three Stripes looked to steadfast partner Brain Dead for a shining look at the Climacool 2.
While the throwback visible tech hallmarks of the product line are themselves already back in vogue, the Three Stripes has merged that aesthetic with the incoming pressure of the World Cup via the adidas Climacool F50, grafting the Climacool 1 platform onto, of course, an adapted upper from the F50 cleat. Following an Argentine colorway that first familiarized the public with this mash-up idea, now the silhouette leans into the former half of its equation with a hi-vis “Acid Yellow” overhaul. To both tie in Y2K sportiness and emphasize the speed from its cleated half, aquatic interplay touches the collar, forefoot, and the wavy Three Stripes branding at the quarter.
The adidas Climacool F50 “Acid Yellow” is due out in March, clocking in with a $150 retail price. Official images can be found in the gallery ahead; we’ll keep our “Where To Buy” widget stocked with direct pick-up links once this pair touches down.
