A sharper, more refined direction continues to take shape within adidas Basketball’s guard-focused lineup as Donovan Mitchell’s latest signature evolves. The adidas DON Issue 7 “Black/Gold” steps in with a stripped-back look that leans on contrast and structure rather than loud color blocking. Release is set for Spring 2026, giving the model an early presence ahead of the next performance cycle.
A blacked-out upper sets the tone, built with lightweight mesh and layered textiles that feel streamlined on foot. A zippered shroud runs down the center, covering the laces and adding a controlled, almost aerodynamic finish. Along the sides, subtle dotted striping creates movement without breaking the all-black flow, giving this DON Issue 7 colorway a quiet sense of detail.
Gold details help draw attention. Extended midfoot molding cups into midsole for visual definition and added support. Metallic gold touches on Spida logo on tongue and outsole. Three Stripes branding is tonal and extends into the heel for minimal contrast.
Inside the shoe radial forefoot traction patterns aid cutting while longitudinal heel channels aid stability. Overall construction looks like there will continue to be a focus on explosiveness, maneuverability and lockdown in the paint.
