As noted earlier in our coverage as the Nike First Sight collection came to light, women’s footwear is no longer something that can be sidelined. It’s sink-or-swim time in dedicating major real estate in your catalog to the ladies; either you’re ahead of the trend, or you’ll be entirely left behind.
For the Swoosh, it’s not only entirely new inventions they’ve put forth in attempting to grow their foothold. On a less extensive level, the right colorway or material swap on more everlasting staples can still strike the right chord, something we began to see with the Air Force 1 Low as a black satin option with ribbon laces hit the newswire. That silky materiality may not cross over to the two shoes at hand, but clearly the ribboned concept still holds weight in Beaverton with the “Oatmeal” and “Pink Foam” options here. Though traditional leather uppers return, a pillowy embroidered “Nike” tongue tag and lace logo on the insoles help push this “series” forward all the same.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Ribbon & Lace” should be coming to Nike.com within the next several weeks, hovering somewhere in the $130 range, with women’s sizing expected. Find official images of either style below.
