There are Christmas shoes, and then there are Christmas grails. And then, perhaps in a category of its own, there’s the Nike Kobe 6 “Grinch,” Kobe’s best sneaker ever and one of the best basketball shoes of all time when you factor in looks, lore, and performance. With that legacy in mind, Nike is reportedly working on another Christmas-themed Kobe 6 Protro for Holiday 2026, this time drawing from a new reference.
Sneaker Market Romania and @brandon1an report that a Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Coals” is in the works for later this year, supposedly inspired by the stocking stuffer reserved for naughty kids. Concrete details at this stage include a color palette of “Black/Venom Green/Purple Venom” and size run spanning Men’s, GS, and PS. Holiday-specific touches like special insoles and/or graphic additions are unknown at this stage. The speculative mockup below shows a potential outcome, but is subject to change.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Black/Venom Green/Purple Venom” aka “Coals” is expected to release Holiday 2026, meaning sometime between October and December. We’ll circle back with more info as it becomes available.
