Some of the most sought-after Jordans of the past few seasons have been of the black-dominant variety: the “Black Cat” 4s, “Gamma” 11s, “Black Metallic Reimagined” 5s… the list goes on. While not a retro, we’ll soon be getting a new style with that same sort of potential: the Air Jordan 6 “Cap & Gown.”
The graduation-inspired “Cap & Gown” series began with an Air Jordan 11 in 2018, tracing back to Tinker Hatfield’s original dress shoe vision and sneakerheads’ long-standing tradition of wearing Jordan 11s to formal events. The nearly all-black colorway channeled the unreleased “Blackout” sample from 2011 and became an instant hit.
Arriving in time for the model’s 35th anniversary, this Air Jordan 6 stands out with a reflective silver trim housed within the various side cutouts. More silver hits appear on the Jumpman, midsole, and spoiler, while black-on-black Nike Air text lands on the heel. Clean and versatile, we can see these flying off shelves.
The Air Jordan 6 “Cap & Gown” is expected to release in May 2025 via Nike SNKRS and retailers, priced at $215 USD. See detailed pics below and stay tuned for further updates.
