With NASCAR’s 23XI Racing off to a hot start to its season, Michael Jordan’s love for cars has been a popular talking point. In the sneaker world, that passion has long lingered in the background, referenced in the design of several Air Jordans and more recently in the ongoing “Restomod” takedown series. The concept began with the Jordan 4 RM in 2024 and is set to continue soon with the Air Jordan 3 RM.
Several key changes distinguish the Jordan 3 RM from its parent model. In fact, almost everything is different aside from the sole unit and elephant print toe overlay. Ballistic-style mesh forms the base, layered with multiple side panels and synthetic leather around the eyelets. The most striking addition appears at the heel, where an auto-inspired molded TPU piece features perforations and Jumpman logos. This greyscale colorway serves as a crowd-pleasing introductory pair, taken with Old Royal hits on the heel, outsole, and inner tongue for some subtle character.
