Sometimes the biggest hits come when a brand doesn’t take itself too seriously. Look no further than Nike SB’s dominance in the collab space, charging unafraid into disparate, seemingly random link-ups with names far and wide across the pop cultural landscape.
While the skateboarding sub-brand is no doubt the most famous for its playful signature, don’t discount Beaverton’s ability to do so of their own accord. The Nike Dunk Low “Smiley Swoosh” featured here is perfect proof, finding its title with the neon stamp on the rear overlay. It’s a touch only made more fitting by this pair’s kids-only size run, further dovetailing into the glow-in-the-dark detailing and juvenile application of the “Nike” embroidery on the heel. While not carrying any direct ties, we’d be remiss not to cite the Air Max DN8 “Have A Nike Day,” at the very least to elucidate a recently cheery lean in the Swoosh catalog.
The Nike Dunk Low “Smiley Swoosh” is likely to touch down soon via Nike.com, retailing for $102 in GS sizing.
