adidas Yeezy 350 1.5 Sample

Kanye West’s run with adidas is full of defining moments, but it also includes ideas that never made it to market. One of the more interesting reveals came during StockX’s 10-year anniversary panel, where former adidas executive Jon Wexler shared details about a scrapped concept: the Yeezy Boost 350 “1.5.”

The unreleased model was positioned as a bridge between the original Yeezy Boost 350 and what would later become the V2. It combined familiar elements from the V1, like the medial panel design, with a new knit upper and a more visible Boost midsole. The updated tooling alone would have marked a noticeable shift in both comfort and visual identity.

Despite its potential, the 1.5 never moved forward. Instead, adidas focused on the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, which quickly became the brand’s most successful Yeezy silhouette and a dominant force in the sneaker market.

Looking back, the adidas Yeezy 350 “1.5” stands as a reminder of how close certain designs come to shaping sneaker history. While it never released, its concept shows there was an alternate path the Yeezy line could have taken—one that, according to Wexler, may have reached the same massive success.
